NIA Finds Uttarakhand Connection in Red Fort Explosion, Detains Imam and Two Others

New Delhi: The investigation into the blast that took place near the Red Fort in Delhi has now reached Uttarakhand. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) detained the Imam of Bilal Masjid and an electrician from the Banbhulpura area of ​​Haldwani late on Friday night. Along with this, the Maulana of Tallital Mosque of Nainital was also called for questioning on Saturday.

The mobile phones and laptops of all three were examined. After a long interrogation, the joint team of NIA, Delhi Police, and Uttarakhand STF released him at around 11 pm on Saturday night. SSP Manjunath TC only said that this is a matter related to national security, and if needed, these people can be called again.

Who were interrogated and why?

The Imam caught from Haldwani is originally a resident of Tada Dadiyal village of Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh. As soon as the news of his detention was received, Rampur police also reached his family and interrogated him.

Sources say that after scrutinizing the call details of terrorist Muzammil, who was involved in the blast, Imam's name came up, on the basis of which the NIA took action. The interesting thing is that the Maulvi and Imam brought for questioning from Haldwani are said to be uncle and nephew. The agency also searched Imam's house.

Earlier, it was revealed that a woman from Pithoragarh and a doctor from Dehradun were in contact with terrorist Umar Nabi. After this the investigating agencies had set their eyes on Uttarakhand.

What information was received from the Maulana of Tallital Mosque?

After the action of NIA, on Saturday afternoon the local police also detained and interrogated Maulana Mohammad Naeem of the mosque of the Tallital slaughterhouse area of ​​Nainital.
During the interrogation that lasted the entire afternoon and evening, CO Ravikant Semwal's team, the dog squad, and the bomb disposal squad investigated the mosque and Maulana's house. A police team also questioned Maulana's wife and son. However, no arrest has been made against anyone yet.
